Privacy and data processing (DPA)

This page describes how ParseDoc processes the documents you send and the personal data it holds. Custom Digital Services is the data controller. The design goal is simple: process your document, return the result, and keep nothing.

Retention
Zero-retention
Files deleted the moment a job completes.
Hosting
EU · Paris
No content processed outside the EU.
Training
Never used
Your documents never train a model.
01

Zero-retention by default

ParseDoc runs on a zero-retention model. An uploaded file is written to a temporary volume only for the time it takes to parse it, then deleted as soon as the job completes. If a job fails, the temporary input is removed by a purge with a one hour maximum lifetime. No copy of your document is kept for training, quality or any other purpose.

02

No document content in the database or the logs

The database stores accounts, API keys, usage counters and billing records only. It never stores the content of a parsed document. The application logs carry request metadata (status, page counts, timing) and never the text or images of your files.

03

Hosting in the European Union

ParseDoc is hosted on a server located in Paris, France, inside the European Union. Standard parsing and invoice extraction run entirely on this infrastructure, with no processing of your document content outside the European Union.

04

AI enrichment (opt-in)

The AI enrichment tier is opt-in. It is used only when you explicitly call the /v1/enrich endpoint. On that call, and only then, the text you submit is sent to an EU-based AI provider to expand acronyms or complete text. Nothing from that call is retained by ParseDoc, and the provider processes the text inside the European Union. Standard parsing never triggers this path.

05

Acronym cache

To answer common acronym requests faster, ParseDoc keeps a shared cache of acronym definitions. This cache holds generic definitions only. It never contains any content from your documents and is not tied to any single customer.

06

Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to access, rectify and erase the personal data ParseDoc holds about you (essentially your account and billing records, since document content is never stored). To exercise these rights, contact the data controller below.
